Scentura

A company I co-founded, born from one stubborn question about why some things make us feel, and some don't.

The company has its own home at scentura.space ↗. This is the story behind it.

I've always been a little obsessed with the things that make people feel something. It's the thread under everything I do, the rooms I host, the communities I keep building, the ones I want to belong to. Scent does that faster than any sentence I could write. One smell can stop you mid-step, pull up a memory you forgot you had, make you hungry before you've seen a single thing.

Hot food has always sold itself by smell. Cold food never could. That gap is the whole company.

Here's the thought I couldn't put down. A warm bakery pulls you in from halfway down the street, no sign required. But so much of what we actually eat now arrives cold and sealed: ice cream, bubble tea, desserts, the packaged rows at the supermarket. Delicious, and completely silent. No smell, no pull, no moment. So my co-founder Valerie and I built Scentura to close that gap, giving cold-food brands a signature scent of their own, so a product you meet through a freezer door or a wrapper can still make you feel something before the first bite.

We took it to NUS Enterprise and came away 1st Runner-Up, which was the night a late, slightly mad idea turned into a real thing with our names on it. We're piloting with a handful of brands now. And standing on that stage with Valerie, I realised Scentura is the same thing I chase in everything I do, just in a different form: helping people feel something, and feel pulled in, before a single word is spoken.

Scentura has grown past this page.

The scent library, how the pilots actually work, the brands already winning on scent, and how to start, all of that lives on the company site. If you run a cold-food brand, or you're just curious how it works, that's the place to go.

Founding pilots are free for two weeks, fully managed, no lock-in.

Different medium, same obsession: making people feel something real, before they've even had the words for it.

That thread runs through everything here, the rooms I host, the people I bring together, and the things I build. Want to swap notes or work together?
